GMC Acadia Tire Pressure

The correct tire pressure for GMC Acadia models from 2007 to 2022 is 35–36 psi for both the front and rear tires. The exact tire pressure for your vehicle will also depend on the trim and original equipment tire size.

You can look at the interior driver’s side door frame or check your owner’s manual to ensure the correct tire pressure for your particular model while on the road.

GMC provides this factory-recommended tire pressure level so owners can ensure the vehicle operates optimally. In other words, driving your Acadia with low or overinflated tires is unsafe and adversely affects the overall driving experience.

Tire Pressure Table For Gmc Acadia Year Models And Trims

Despite the generally recommended tire pressure of 35 psi for the GMC Acadia, the ideal tire pressure you should work with will ultimately depend on the type of tires your vehicle has and the driving conditions.

For example, if you are using a modified set of summer tires, you should adhere to the specifications on the specific step-up.

Even for different Acadia models, the ideal tire pressure ranges from as low as 30 psi to as high as 80 psi.

For this reason, we’ve done the homework for you and listed all the available GMC Acadia models and trim types, their respective tire sizes, and the factory-recommended tire pressure for each. Here:

What’s The Best Way To Check The Tire Pressure On My Gmc Acadia?

The most reliable way to check your tire pressure on a GMC Acadia is to use a tire gauge. These pressure gauges give a more accurate reading of how much air you’ve filled your tires with, especially when the integrated TPMS system has been compromised due to new tires, weather conditions, or component damage.

However, after checking your tire pressure and adjusting it to the factory-recommended psi, the TPMSlow-pressure warning light may remain on your dash.

In such a situation, you must reset the tire pressure light. Unlike in most other vehicles, the steps to do this on a GMC Acadia are slightly different. Here’s how:

Reset Your Tire Pressure Light On The GMC Acadia

Step 1: Turn the vehicle off.

Step 2: Turn the car to the “on” position.

Step 3: Press and hold the TPMS button and wait for the tire pressure light to blink thrice.

Step 4: Start the vehicle and wait 20 minutes for the tire light to turn off.

By now, the light should have disappeared. If otherwise, then double-check that all four tires are properly inflated to the right pressure, and if the light remains static, then you need to contact a GMC dealer to turn it off because it is now likely due to a bad tire pressure sensor that requires replacement.

But Can I Drive My Gmc Acadia With The Tire Pressure Light On?

There’s nothing dangerous about driving your GMC Acadia when the tire pressure light is on, as long as you’ve given the tires a good check-over and ensured they are all inflated to the recommended psi standard.

But if the reason behind the light is low tire pressure, it’s not safe to keep rolling. You’ll need to pull over as soon as it’s safe and inspect the tires.

Remember that driving on low tire pressure can lead to tire wear and poor fuel economy.

Parting Thoughts

On GMC Acadia vehicles, 2 screens show the front L-R PSI and the rear L-R PSI. You are not required to wait for Onstar to remind you to check your tire pressures once a month. If your tires are getting low, you will most likely get a warning about low tire pressure on the dash. This could also happen on a cold morning.

The most important thing is to know the recommended PSI for your Acadia model, and you can find this information on the sticker attached to the driver’s door jamb. Remember always to measure your tire pressure when cold and set it to 35 PSI.
